I would like to bring the following to your attention, which will go along way to making your weekend with us an enjoyable experience that you will want to repeat again & again. YDA weekend sites are normally available from 4pm on Friday; Holiday Sites from 2pm on day of opening, however with permission you may be able to arrive early. Before doing so please check with either the stewards for the weekend or one of the contacts published in "Out & About". Visitors are welcome at all weekend sites but must report to the site steward immediately on arrival. Please remember when pitching your unit to leave 6 metres (20ft) between you and the next unit. 6 metres (20ft) is the minimum separating distance allowed between units. There is normally enough space at our weekend meets for campers to spread themselves a little more generously but common sense should always be applied. Please abide by the stewards instructions if shortage of space is, or is expected to be, an issue. The following has been agreed throughout our club with regard to the use of generators on sites: "Campers may only use generators with the permission of the site stewards. Should a complaint be received or the steward considers it to be causing a nuisance then the camper will be asked to stop using it". We feel that the use of generators should be between 1000 hrs & 1800 hrs During these times the D.A. would recommend that a period of 2 hours use would be sufficient to charge your battery. The only exception to someone using a generator for longer periods would be in the case of a specific medical need, or during a large D.A. event when the extended use of generators for lighting & power or other health and safety reasons has been deemed necessary for the social event to take place. There are to be STRICTLY NO INDUSTRIAL
GENERATORS used on site, and generators MUST NOT be left
running unattended. Own sanitation is essential for all weekend meets and Elsan disposal facilities are provided on each site. Drinking water is also provided on each site and filling/washing of toilets must never be done from this tap. Waste water should normally be emptied in a hedge bottom, unless other provision for disposal is provided, please do not allow it to drain onto the grass. Children and adults should play games away from tents & caravans. This applies especially to ball games & throwing frisbees. All vehicles, including cycles, should keep their speed down to 5mph or lower. No vehicles are to be driven on the site between 11pm and 7am and no learner drivers are allowed to drive on site. Pets are welcome on sites but please ensure they do not cause annoyance in any way to other campers. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times & exercised off site. Farm buildings and farm implements are normally out of bounds. For Information - Coffee mornings are held on most weekend meets to update campers with the latest information on forthcoming events. CCY (Camping Club Youth) members are welcome to pitch their tent in the Youth area; however if they are cooking the 6 metre (20ft) rule applies. Please remember the children you bring with you are your responsibility at all times, so please ensure you know where they are and what they are doing. A tuck shop is usually available for all to use, proceeds are used for the children's activities. I look forward to seeing you all soon on a weekend rally. Kind Regards Harry Culpin, YDA Chairman |
